Andy Warhol - I'm OK

Andy Warhol exhibition opens at the Old Town Square in Prague.

In the surrounding areas of the old Renaissance palaces, by the House at the White Unicorn in Old Town Square, the Art Gallery of Prague recently opened a new exhibition dedicated to Andy Warhol - I'm OK. This is the first exposure after reconstruction of the new exhibition area of the palace.

The exhibition presents to visitors a unique collection of works by American pop-art icon Andy Warhol. Andrew Warhola, whose parents emigrated to the US from Slovakia's Carpathian mountain region, now better known as Andy Warhol, was an American painter, printmaker, filmmaker and leading figure of the American pop art movement. He began his career as an illustrator giveaways, and later becoming a film director and manager of the rock group The Velvet Underground. He was portrayed in several biographical films and documentaries. In 1991, four years after his death, near the village of his parent´s birth in Miková, there opened a museum dedicated to his work. Another museum was opened three years later in his hometown of Pittsburgh. Here in Prague you can find in the exhibition a replica of the Factory, where everyone can try their hand at screen printing Warhol´s various motifs.
